Industrial Artifacts transforms a variety of industrial materials into unique furniture and decorative accessories. These materials include a huge range of Industrial items rescued from: mines; mills; machine shops, foundries, ships and hospitals.
We have one of the largest collections of antique wooden casting patterns - precision made from a variety of different woods including: Red & Yellow Cedar, Georgian & Yellow Pine, Douglas Fir, Mahogany, Maple, Ebony, and Iron Wood. These patterns were once used by foundries to cast thousands of metal machine parts for many different industrial uses. We combine these patterns with different woods (re-claimed & new) and metals to create our unique designs. With each design, we include a First-Life Description that preserves the story of it's former industrial use.
At Industrial Artifacts we strive to give new lives to forgotten artifacts. Our vision is to join our industrial past with functional and progressive designs for the future. The materials we use are carefully chosen to demonstrate the precision of the Old World craftsmanship and a new-world vision of aesthetic transformation and historical preservation. Each of our creations holds their own unique stories from the draftsman's desk to the foundry floor. It was here where these wooden molds would be cast in brass, steel or one of the other metals commonly used for industrial casting around British Columbia. We welcome you to our web site and invite you to enjoy our unique creations.
